About Fauna Timbre

What is nature? What is human nature? Fauna Timbre is trying to give these ambiguities of life a voice. Founded in Oslo in 2016 by Kenneth Aarmo and Marius Sjøli (Sculptured, Hollow Branches, Blekspetl, Snares of Sixes), they decided to write music that could visualize/conceptualize human relations to the natural world, the shelters we create to keep ourselves locked in, the concept of safety, and what it means to be living in this paradox of absence and presence. The score for the human inner conflict.

In late 2016 Petter Dehli Frydenlund (Oh Yeah Tiger) joined on drums. After using 2016 to write their debut EP, the first half of 2017 was used to record.

With floating gritty guitars, heavy bass, grooveful drumming and use of ambiance, Fauna Timbre is painting a landscape of doom with their music. There can be beauty in the intimacy of frailty and the struggle in not giving up. The music comes in waves: Sometimes slow, sometimes brutal and sometimes cast in serene motions.

Written and produced by Marius Sjøli and Kenneth Aarmo in Sjøli studios. Drums recorded at Studio Hemstad. Mixed by Marius Sjøli in Sjøli Studios, Norway. Master by Jason Walton at Earth in Sound Studios, Portland, OR.
